• The many and varied gifts of the new team

Does being part of the Ember Team affect us in our personal way outside of the team?
• Yes. But how do I describe it? I grew into it
• I find that people are curious about our work
• Our work brings me back to basics of St. Vincent de Paul
• I’m aware that people view me as approachable
• Growth and impact of our work
• Having an interest in people’s reactions
• Understanding in part, the level people’s thinking is at!
• Being part of the mission team gives me confidence that religion / the Church is part of me
• Seeing the impact on people shows me the importance of good work
• I will never be finished learning about the Church and my faith
• We all feel connected in a real way with the work we undertake on the Mission Team and this in turn has an impact on our lives
Why are we involved on the Mission Team? What keeps us motivated and energised?
• Knowing I’ve done my utmost to create the possibility for change
• Making a connection with people
• Fun! I feel energised working with the team
• I feel energised working with people on their faith journey
• Gratitude, welcome, friendliness, openness from people to our work
• Knowing I’m reaching out without discrimination
• People may have heard ‘something’ that you hadn’t even said, as in hearing what they needed to hear – work of the Spirit
• Giving your all, no regrets, not winging it
• Diversity of team – reaching the maximum variety of people
• Watching internal thinking of people
• Sometimes we ‘click’ and special moments are shared with the people we give missions to. There is always a space for God to come in and work with me
What’s special about this particular Mission Team?

• We go into the Parish / Area prior to the event to discern what their vision for mission is
• We aim to empower people
• It is one of the few spaces I feel free to talk about my faith – in today’s society it’s not something that is regularly spoken about
