A Spiritual Director is God’s voice speaking to you.

He/She will not tell you what to do nor, contrary to some beliefs, will a Spiritual Director insist you join the priesthood or a convent simply because you have expressed a faith practice.

Rather what a Spiritual Director does is to listen deeply to all you say and reflect it back. He holds up the events in your life, your encounters, your reactions, your joys and concerns in a way to help you see God’s plan mapping out in your life. Your Spiritual Director will walk with you as a guide, a compass pointing you home.

The duration and frequency of each session will vary depending on you and your Spiritual Director’s commitments. One suggestion is that each session will be for one hour on a monthly basis. But if there are important events occurring these sessions can be more or less frequent.
